24 entered for Midlands National

Twenty four horses have been entered for the Gigginstown House Midlands National at Kilbeggan this coming Friday.

The feature race of the year at the Co Westmeath track is due to go off the penultimate contest on the seven race card, at 8.25.

The race sponsor could have five horses in the race, with Guts for Garter, Warcraft, Campbonnais, Hangover and Politeo all among the entries.

Norther Bay, Politeo and Harold's Cross are the highest rated horses in the field all on the 128 mark, with recent Connacht National winner Campbonnais bidding to land another National for trainer Charles Byrnes.

Piano Star, who won this race twice in 2008 and 2009, is also among the entries, while Model County Lass for Colin Bowe, Etcetera Etcetera for Willie Mullins and Future All Star for Colm Murphy are other notable contenders.
