38 For Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes

Soviet Song, Alexander Goldrun, Attraction, Favourable Terms and Virginia Waters all engaged.

A fantastic clash is in prospect for the #200,000 Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes, the Group One highlight at Newmarket on totesport Cambridgeshire Day, Saturday, October 1. In total 38 fillies and mares have been entered for the mile event, details of which are revealed today, Wednesday, August 10.

Last year´s renewal of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes was the first as a Group One and saw Attraction come home a neck in front of Chic. Both fillies are entered again this year with Attraction due to make her comeback in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday, August 13.

Soviet Song has won the last two runnings of the Group One UAE Equestrian & Racing Federation Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket´s July Meeting and could bid to win her sixth Group One overall in the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes. In the latest renewal of the UAE Equestrian & Racing Federation Falmouth Stakes on July 5, Soviet Song proved two and a half lengths too strong for the tough Irish filly Alexander Goldrun, who subsequently took the Group One Vodafone Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on July 30 and is also entered for the October 1 showpiece.

Other interesting contenders from the older generation include the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Favourable Terms, successful in the Group One Vodafone Nassau Stakes in 2004 but yet to start this season and Michael Jarvis´ New Morning, conqueror of the 2004 Derby winner North Light in the Group Three Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown earlier this season.

From the classic generation, the leading entries include UltimatePoker.com 1000 Guineas heroine Virginia Waters, one of four entries for Aidan O´Brien, Maids Causeway, triumphant in the Group One Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot at York, Vodafone Nassau Stakes runner-up Cassydora and Vista Bella, who looked a promising filly in the making earlier this season. Two other unexposed fillies are Aidan O´Brien´s Kitty O´Shea, unbeaten in two starts and Suez, one of five Godolphin entries, who was last seen out when finishing runner-up to Magical Romance in the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket in 2004. Michael Prosser, Newmarket´s Clerk of the Course, commented: 'The decision to upgrade the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot to Group One level in 2004 certainly proved successful with Attraction´s brave victory.

'This year´s entries further emphasise that the contest has developed into one of the leading autumn targets for Europe´s best fillies and the October 1 race looks sure to be a highlight of Newmarket´s record-breaking autumn.'
