Last year, when with Pat Martin, Our Max landed his maiden at Laytown. Now with Georgios Pakidis, the grey helped his County Armagh-based trainer to a near 47/1 double, by winning the finale on the beach, the Hibernia Steel (QR) Race.

In the same Patrick McCann silks, that Sean Corby sported on Pakidis' earlier winner, Papabili , Patrick Mullins donned aboard Our Max.

Mullins asked the winner to go and take his race from over a furlong out, having travelled well, and he ultimately held the run of favourite, Usa , by half a length.

"He won here last year and now this year. He's had little problems off and on and I finally got him right," disclosed Pakidis.

"Hopefully he's well handicapped and we'll get some more out of him at Dundalk."
