Eight year olds and upwards will be excluded from running in Bumpers from next Thursday.

This latest restriction is one of a number of new measures designed to eleviate the balloting problems.

From May any horse which has run in a Flat, Hurdle or Chase race will no longer be eligible to contest a Bumper. This will have a far more wide reaching effect and will require certain trainers to re-think the way they conduct their business.
