Acting Managers of Fairyhouse & Tipperary change Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) today announced the appointment of Peter Roe to the position of Acting Manager at Fairyhouse Racecourse with effect from October 6th 2010 to cover the period of Caroline Gray’s maternity leave until the summer of 2011. Peter assumes this position having been Manager of Tipperary Racecourse since December 1999. Peter is a native of Roscrea, County Tipperary and a graduate of Equine Science from Limerick University. Peter says “I am looking forward to the challenges of managing a premier racecourse with such a great history of racing”. Nessa Joyce has been appointed to the position of Acting Manager at Tipperary Racecourse for the same period, moving from her current position as Operations Executive at Leopardstown Racecourse. Nessa is a native of Ratoath County Meath, and a UCD graduate in Agriculture Science and Equine Studies. Nessa has 12 years equine business experience in both Lexington, Kentucky and Ireland. In announcing the appointments, HRI Chief Executive Brian Kavanagh said “I wish Peter and Nessa well in their new roles. They both bring strong racecourse experience to their respective positions where their continued focus will be on growing attendances by offering customers a value for money experience.”
