Both successful in their own right earlier in the evening, John Ryan and Alan O'Sullivan recorded doubles when teaming up with Ad Caelum to win the Paul & Carmel Fay Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Kilbegan.

Sent off 10/1, the Cloudings mare was held up in mid division before closing on the leaders after jumping the penultimate flight.

Pushed along to lead entering the straight, the seven-year-old stayed on well to beat the Emmet Mullins trained Toll Stone by two-and-three-quarter lengths.

“She was very unlucky in this race last year, she had the race won and unseated at the last,” said Ryan.

“She’s a gorgeous mare. She hasn’t got going over fences yet, but she will. She’s going to make a smashing chaser.

“The dam is a half-sister to a Grade 1 winner (Spirit Of Adjisa). We bred her ourselves and she’s by the mighty Cloudings.”
