Amethyst Stakes next up for Thady Quill Bold Thady Quill could return to Leopardstown for the Amethyst Stakes in May after he ran yet another fine race in defeat on Sunday. A winner of a Listed race at Cork and third in the Irish Lincolnshire, he turned arguably a career-best to beat all bar Aidan O'Brien's Declaration Of War in the Heritage Stakes at the Foxrock venue. While that one is bound for the Group One Lockinge Stakes at Newbury next month, Bold Thady Quill will be staying at home. Trainer Ken Condon said: "I was thrilled with him. He loves his racing and it looks like he's still improving. I know the winner is very highly thought of and I believe he's going for the Lockinge next, so it was a good effort by our horse. "He seems to handle all types of ground. We know he handles it when it's very testing and I'd run on him on anything apart from very fast ground. "We'll be looking at races at around seven furlongs or a mile, Listed and Group Three races, and we'll see how we go. He'll probably go back to Leopardstown on May 12th for the Amethyst Stakes next and there are plenty of races like that for him."
