Another Challenge wins over hurdles! Another Challenge (6/4f) has embraced differing disciplines recently and today following up an August chase win with success in Punchestown’s William Hill Challenge Series Handicap Hurdle (Div I), for locally based trainer Oliver McKiernan. Successful under today’s rider Philip Enright at Roscommon in August, the six-year-old made use of a lower hurdles rating of just 82 today, when eventually shaking off the persistent challenge of front-running runner-up Kazbek, by a half-length. Cavan-native McKiernan, who trains the winner for Keep The Faith Bloodstock Ltd, said "the last evening in Roscommon was the biggest lift we got with that horse, as it took a long time for the penny to drop with him. I thought he was very disappointing for a year or two. “I bought him from Jimmy Mangan and he said to me 'Oliver, you might find a better horse when he jumps a fence' and that's exactly what happened and he jumped very well in Roscommon. This evening was a good battle and he had to work. He's a good ground horse and if it doesn't change, we might get a run into him in Naas soon. “It's great to win at my local track, which is only 10 or 15 minutes from home.” Quotes from John O’Riordan
