Trainer Andy Slattery and stable amateur jockey Adam Ryan combined for their fifth bumper success in as many weeks at Wexford today, as well-backed Beir Bua (2/1f) landed the concluding Racing Again 8th August Fillies Bumper.

Successful with Ripsnorter in yesterday’s Roscommon finale, the pair added to the haul with twice-raced Beir Bua, who ran around in the closing stages but comfortably held Mahon Falls by 2.25 lengths.

Willie Slattery, representing his brother, revealed “she does her best not to win. We were hoping he'd hold on to her (behind horses) a bit longer, so we'll be trying to keep her in company for longer in future. She has a bit of ability though.

“She is good to jump and we'll give her another bit of schooling."

“Thank God for these winners and, you know, we have one or two more to come as well."

Today's win moves jockey Ryan to the head of the amateur jockeys' championship with 10 wins, one more than Patrick Mullins and Harry Swan.
