Ansgar back for more Sabrina Harty is hoping stable star Ansgar can provide more magical moments this season after a fantastic last year. The seven-year-old gelding has been a terrific servant for the yard and took his form to another level in 2014. Following Group Three wins at the Curragh and Goodwood, he enjoyed his finest hour when landing the Group Two Park Stakes at Doncaster on St Leger day. He was far from disgraced when sixth in the Group One Prix de la Foret at Longchamp on his final start and connections drew plenty of encouragement from that effort, particularly as he was found to have been sick after the run. "We're very happy with him, he's in great form. He's done well over the winter and looks stronger," said Harty. "He's in at the Curragh on April 19 in the Big Bad Bob Gladness Stakes but there is nothing set in concrete as he is ground dependent. "I'm hoping for a decent summer and some nice ground for him. We'd love to go for a Group One again with him. "He ran well at Longchamp despite the fact that we found that he had a lung infection afterwards. James (Doyle) said he ran flat during the race. "He gave about 20 coughs after. It was unlucky, but we were also delighted with the performance at the same time considering that. "We're very excited and looking forward to the season. He'll probably go back to England for the races he ran in last year and we might drop him back to six (furlongs) at some stage and see how he goes."
