Successful in the same race 12 months ago, the veteran Art Of Unity made it back to back wins when scoring on his stable debut for trainer Aidan Melia in the Andy Carroll Memorial Handicap at Bellewstown.

Despite being drawn out wide in stall 13, the gelding was smartly away under Nicola Burns, slotting in to track the leaders in the box seat.

Coming through to head Livingstone Range over a furlong out, the 14/1 chance held the strong late run of Steel Magnolia to win by a head.

With Melia on lead up duty, Nicola Burns said: "He won here last year.

"He was (trainer filling her with confidence) - he said he might need the run, but he said to see how he goes. He's an old enough horse and he knows his job.

"He did (dig deep) and he stuck it right out to the line, so he's a good honest horse."
