The total attendance for the four days of the Leopardstown Festival meeting was 55,648, an increase of 1,646 on the 54,002 figure for last year.

However betting over the four days with the Tote and racecourse bookmakers didn't fare so well, with both showing a decrease on 2012.

The Tote aggregate for the Festival this year was €1,781,563, down 11%, while the bookies turnover was down 5.9% at €3,553,076.

The attendance at the south Co. Dublin venue today was 10,692, up 2.320 on last year.

Betting figures today bucked the general trend with the bookmaker turnover up a massive 61% at €952,531, while the Tote aggregate was also well up on 2012 at €499,838 - an increase of 35%.
