Sent off the Even-money favourite, the Derek O'Connor-ridden Aurea Fortuna was a cosy winner of the Premiere Weekend Ticket (Q.R.) Handicap Chase at Punchestown.

The Mount Nelson gelding was a winner over hurdles at the Galway festival and was racing off a 14lb lower chase mark here.

Dropped out towards the rear, the six-year-old made good headway approaching the straight and led two out before going away to beat Smallcraftwarning by four lengths.

Trainer Tony Martin said of Debbie Breslin's winner: “He ran over fences last year as a five-year-old and was weak. He’s obviously improved a lot, but winter ground gets to him.

“He jumped great today and that man riding him is worth a stone to you going out.”
