Aussie Express on course for King's Stand Trainer Danny O'Brien has confirmed this morning that Shamexpress has settled in well at Abington Place stables in Newmarket. The winner of the Group One Newmarket Handicap over six furlongs on his most recent outing in his native Australia, the four year old is set to drop back a furlong in trip for next Tuesday's King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. O'Brien told www.racingvictoria.net.au that his four year old will have his last serious piece of work towards the end of the week. "He's coped with the travel good and he's settled in really well. He's been out for a canter each morning, he's eaten up all his feed and all reports are very positive at this stage. "He'll have a gallop on either Friday or Saturday morning which I'll be over there to have a look at," he added. O'Brien is no stranger to travelling sprinters to Royal Ascot, sending out Star Witness to finish runner-up in the 2011 King's Stand before finishing third in the Golden Jubilee. O'Brien also took his star mare Glamour Puss to the meeting in 2006 with the dual Group One winner finishing seventh behind fellow Australian Takeover Target in the King's Stand.
