Austin silks get another successful airing Previously successful for Brian McMahon and Eric McNamara Killinure Lass gained a 5th career success today as she scored for Philip Dempsey in the Tramore Handicap Chase. Jordan Gainford did the steering in the colours of Tom Austin, and ponderous leaps at the final couple of fences by eventual third, I A Connect, opened the door for some of the others in the 9-strong field. Sporting the purple and yellow silks that were carried with distinction by the likes of 8-time winner Conem in the past, Killinure Lass stayed on best on the run-in to beat Pebble Bleu by a length. "That was great. She was unlucky here before, she just got to the front and pulled herself up a bit. She had a nice run the last day in Sligo and she seemed to come on from that," said Dempsey. "She's rated 104 and I don't think she'll go up too much for that either. She'll go for something similar now. Tom Austin owns her and he is a brother of Willie Austin." The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Priory Park, trained by E. J. O'Grady, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have coughed once while being examined. Samples were taken for analysis. (DM & EM)
