Baker snaps up Smullen and Spencer At a time when trainers are struggling to find jockeys, George Baker has snapped up two of the best around for his Betway Lincoln runners with Pat Smullen and Jamie Spencer confirmed for Belgian Bill and Jack's Revenge respectively. With valuable meetings at Doncaster, Kempton and Chelmsford on the first day of the Flat season, not to mention the Dubai World Cup, trainers are having to move early to book their preferred pilots. Baker also has Boomshackerlacker engaged at Doncaster, but he will instead head to the Curragh on Sunday for the Tote Irish Lincolnshire. "I've literally just got off the phone after confirming that Pat Smullen will ride Belgian Bill," said Baker. "There are jockeys all over the world this weekend and what with poor Pat Cosgrave getting injured recently we are one down ourselves. "Belgian Bill would only not run if there was a downpour, but I think we should be racing on good ground. "He had a fantastic time of it out in Dubai, winning once and going close twice in his three runs, so we'll let him loose. "Jack's Revenge will also run at Doncaster and Jamie Spencer rides him. "They could be a match made in heaven as Jack is a bit of a character, he likes getting into trouble and being produced late through horses and there's probably no man better for producing one like that than Jamie. "I'm delighted with both of them. "With the ground yielding at the Curragh, Boomshackerlacker will go over there as he prefers it a bit softer."
