Aidan O'Brien takes the wraps off Epsom Derby ante post favourite Pierre Bonnard in the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes over 10 furlongs at Leopardstown today with the Camelot colt reported to have "wintered very well".

He moved through the grades with each of his juvenile successes and landed a Group 3 at Newmarket and the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud Stakes when last seen in France in October.

He gives weight away to his eight rivals under the terms of this contest and trades at a shade of odds-on.

Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "Once the weather improves, it is a great time of year, obviously, with the trials into the Classics.

"Everyone is looking forward to seeing him back in Leopardstown. He has wintered very well.

"Obviously, he came through his away day at the Curragh nicely and it will be good to get him there on Sunday. Onwards and upwards.

"It (ground) was good, good to yielding this morning (Friday) with a bit of rain in the forecast, but Leopardstown can miss a lot of it. Regardless, it is a trial and they are there to start.

"He's under a penalty, it is a good field, but we are looking forward to Sunday."

Pierre Bonnard also holds entries in the Dante at York and in the Irish Derby at the Curragh.
