Ballykinlar followed up on his recent breakthrough success with another cosy win at Sligo tonight.

The Donncha Duggan-trained gelding had opened his account at Kilbeggan 13 days ago and went to post a 7/2 shot today.

Eoin Staples produced his mount to challenge, travelling well, at the second last and he skipped clear over the final flight to record a five-length win over Chortal

“He was always a nice horse but was just a bit unlucky,” said Duggan afterwards.

“He should have won his five-year-old maiden on his second start, only he fell three out. A couple of bumper winners came out of that point-to-point.

“He is improving, no doubt about that. If he keeps improving we’ll probably go for beginners chase with him.

“He unseated another day in a point-to-point at the first, just things didn’t work out for him but he can jump.”
