Banoffee in Ribblesdale picture

Banoffee could go for the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot in an attempt to bounce back from a disappointing run in the Investec Oaks.

Connections of the Hughie Morrison-trained filly paid £30,000 to supplement her for the Epsom Classic after she won the Cheshire Oaks in tremendous style at Chester on her second start.

However, she failed to fire on the Downs and was beaten 14 lengths in seventh place behind Talent.

"She's in really good form. She did a nice canter this morning," said Morrison on Friday.

"I think she's probably still very green. Both races she's run in, she didn't learn anything. She just followed the rail and found herself in front.

"The ground didn't suit her (at Epsom), but she's obviously got a lot of ability otherwise she wouldn't have won like she did at Chester.

"All being well as long as the ground doesn't go soft, the plan is to go to the Ribblesdale. She didn't seem to have a very hard race in the Oaks."
