Trainer Michael Mulvany's Chips Are Down landed the six runner Parfit Mobility Vehicles Supporting KARE Nursery Handicap at The Curragh today, despite running from one pound out of a the handicap.

Ridden by capable 5lbs claimer Conor Hoban, the son of Ad Valorem raced prominently and needed a strong to eventually hold the late challenge of Desert of Dreams by a neck.

Mulvany later stated “I thought Chips Are Down was well handicapped - he had a few runs and then he got a break to freshen him up.

“He had to battle and I thought he was beaten a furlong out but he showed a bit of guts to win. He is bred to stay further and might go to Galway for the nursery there.”
