John Oxx is hoping Bengala will be up to the task when she bids for Group Three honours in the Munster Oaks at Cork on June 18.

The three-year-old daughter of Pivotal will be taking on fillies of her own age and older but has shown plenty of promise in both her starts to date.

Successful on her debut at Leopardstown in early April from subsequent winner Aurora Butterfly, she did not get the best of runs when a strong-finishing third to Vociferous Marina in the Listed Salsabil Stakes at Navan later that month.

"She's fine and is going to run next Sunday at Cork in a Group Three race there over a mile and a half. We're stepping her up a bit," said Oxx.

"Her form is good. She's only had the two runs, hopefully there's improvement to come with the experience behind her so it will be interesting to see how she gets on next time."
