Betfair agrees Memorandum of Understanding Betfair has agreed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Horseracing Authority of South Africa (formerly the Jockey Club of Southern Africa). The agreement is in line with the MOU signed with the UK Jockey Club. It is also the same agreement signed with, among others, the International Cricket Council, the English Football Association, the Association of Tennis Professionals, and Cricket Australia. Earlier this month, the British Government Minister Responsible for Gambling, Lord McIntosh, urged sporting bodies all round the world to sign an agreement in order to access what he described as ´unrivalled audit trails´. He said he found it ´difficult to understand why a sporting regulator would refuse the free transfer of betting information to protect a sport´s integrity and credibility´.Chief Executive of the Australian Racing Board Andrew Harding describes the MOU as a ´sham´. The Australian Racing industry says it has no interest in signing it.
