Big Plans For Felix Owner Graham Wylie is hoping Felix Yonger can become a serious contender for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham in March. The nine-year-old may have missed part of the last campaign through injury but he ended it on a high with victory in the BoyleSports Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival in April. Wylie feels that if the Willie Mullins-trained gelding has a good run this winter, he ought to have a go at the two-mile showpiece. "He was injured for the early part of the season, came back and won over hurdles and went on to win the Champion Chase at Punchestown," Wylie told At The Races. "He showed how good he is. He's always been a very good horse and is up there with the best. "I'm pretty sure Willie will campaign him over two miles this coming season. "Because he was injured earlier on and late to come back, he didn't have a fair crack at the whip at Cheltenham, but he was second in the Neptune (behind Simonsig) three years ago so he does handle the course. "If he stays fit and well and puts on a big display this year there is no reason why he can't take his chance at Cheltenham."
