Big guns add weight to Irish Derby field Leading Investec Derby hopes Fascinating Rock and True Story have been added to the field for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh on June 28. Joining them at the €12,500 second entry stage is the Jim Bolger-trained Theophilus. In the care of Dermot Weld, Fascinating Rock has impressed this season, winning a maiden at Leopardstown in March before following up in the Ballysax Stakes at Navan. He was second to Ebanoran in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial as the runners passed the post, but was ruled to have suffered interference in the process and the placings were reversed at a stewards' inquiry. Saeed bin Suroor's True Story was all the rage for the Epsom Classic before the Dante Stakes at York, but his reputation took a slight knock as he could finish only third to The Grey Gatsby. Theophilus is a potentially fascinating contender as a once-raced Gowran maiden winner. He is a son of Bolger's former star two-year-old Teofilo. Curragh manager Paul Hensey tweeted: "Fascinating Rock, Theophilus & True Story added to the @dubaidutyfree1 #IrishDerby field at second entry stage."
