French import Logical Song was the well backed winner of the Book Easter Festival Tickets Handicap Hurdle (div 1) at Fairyhouse today, scoring on his Irish handicap debut for trainer Mags Mullins and her jockey son Danny Mullins.

The son of King’s Theatre had finished second three times, without ever winning, from eight starts in France in 2014 and having unseated rider on his chase debut for trainer Jim Culloty at Killarney in July, finished fourth on his first start for the Mullinses at Clonmel last month.

Today Logical Song was backed from 5/1 in to 7/2 favourite and eventually scored a ready two and a half lengths win over Wee Tiger

Trainer Mullins later commented “I don’t have him that long, and he looked a bit of a runaway when he ran at Clonmel but I was delighted with him today, and Danny gave him a great ride.

“He’s owned and bred by Daniel Furini from Italy, so it’s great to get that win. He’s a great, big lump of a horse and will be nice when we get him over a fence."
