Black Jack Ketchum Heads For Betfair Handicap Hurdle On Saturday

MY WAY DE SOLZEN, beaten off a mark of 142 when runner-up in the Betfair-sponsored 2m7f 110yd handicap hurdle at Haydock in November last year, went on to win the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham just three starts later.

This year´s running of the staying handicap hurdle, again sponsored by Betfair, could also feature a future World Hurdle winner, as Black Jack Ketchum is set to make his eagerly-awaited return in Saturday´s race.

Black Jack Ketchum looked a superstar last season, when winning the Brit Insurance Novices´ Hurdle and following up in the Citroen C6 Sefton Grade 1 Novices´ Hurdle at Aintree.

Betfair´s Eoin Ryan said: 'The Grade 1 Betfair Chase, the first leg of the Betfair Million, is obviously the highlight of Saturday´s Haydock card and may well offer punters a real treat in the shape of Kauto Star vs. Beef or Salmon. However, if Black Jack Ketchum turns up in our handicap hurdle this is really going to be a day not to miss´.

'He is currently 15-8 on Betfair to win the World Hurdle, which makes him the shortest priced horse in our ante-post Festival markets by quite some way.´´
