The addition of blinkers proved just the trick for Tina’s Charm who opened her account with a decisive victory in the Fundraise At Dundalk Stadium In 2026 Maiden.

The Dermot Weld-trained filly, placed a couple of times in maidens on turf this year, was sent off a 13/2 chance.

The daughter of Mehmas made headway to lead under two furlongs out and kept on really well under Chris Hayes inside the final 150 yards to beat Leopold The First by four lengths.

Soldier’s Tree was a further two lengths away in third.

Hayes said, “Consistent form. I had been kind of telling connections she would love the surface.

"She came here the last day because she ran out of options on the grass, because she wouldn't be one for real heavy ground.

"She loved the surface and the boss decided to put the blinkers on through his own accord, because she is a lovely, sweet, honest filly, and he just said to me he was going to put them on to change it up because of the lights and things here.

"It focused her and she travelled around well. I probably got there sooner than ideal, but she shocked me how well she quickened up because we were after going an even tempo.

"It is important as they (owner Leslie Young) have the mare, so it was important for the breed. I don't know whether she will go again, but she has the job done."
