Bloodstock Industry Help Raise Funds For The Irish Horse Welfare Trust

The statutory bodies and representative associations in the Irish Bloodstock Industry have come together to help raise funds for the Irish Horse Welfare Trust (IHWT) through an internet auction to be held in October this year.

The IHWT provide vital work in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of horses all over the country. The goal of the internet auction is to help IHWT begin the process of acquiring its own land and extending its services to cover all equine welfare needs in this country.

The auction will comprise of around 200 items ranging in value from ?100 to ?10,000+ and there should be something to interest everyone. The auction website will be accessible through the IHWT website (www.ihwt.ie) but will not be ?live' until all auction items have been acquired.

Auction items already acquired at this stage include Snee & Tallon paintings, plenty of fabulous prints, lease of a horse for a day, set of Azamour shoes mounted, signed picture of the Guineas winning Saoire mounted with one of the fillies shoes, signed silks, tour of Jackdaws Castle with A.P. McCoy and believe it or not a date with Tracy Piggott!

The auction will be launched at the Leger Meeting in the Curragh on Sunday 18th September where a full list of auction items will be available from the IHWT stand near the parade ring.
