Bolger eyeing Irish 2000 Guineas with Sanus Jim Bolger will train Sanus Per Aquam for the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas after vowing never to run the colt at Newmarket again following his run in the Dewhurst Stakes. The son of Teofilo had been a narrow winner of the Group Three Somerville Tattersall Stakes on his previous visit to Headquarters, but showed he was not suited by the track when a six-length third behind the brilliant Air Force Blue on Saturday. Bolger now plans to run Sanus Per Aquam in one of the trials in Ireland before going for the Curragh Classic on May 21. "I'm a slow learner. I sent him back to see if he could handle it the second time and he couldn't, so we won't be going back to Newmarket again with him," Bolger told At The Races. "I'll be training him for the 2,000 Guineas here at the Curragh. "I've got great confidence in him and I'd say he'll improve an awful lot. "He doesn't have a Group One penalty now, so the trials will be open to him. He could go to Leopardstown before he comes here."
