Bowen Mulls Over Sir Options

Yes Sir could run in the Stan James King George VI Chase without the benefit of a prep run.

While Peter Bowen stressed no firm plans have yet to be established, the Welsh handler raised the possibility of going straight to Kempton as he would not want his inmate to have a hard race before tackling his biggest test to date.

Bowen also revealed the Grade One Stan James Feltham Novices' Chase, another feature of Kempton's December 26 meeting, is under consideration for his talented seven-year-old, who has been off the track since winning at Newton Abbot in August.

Bowen said: 'He's fine and is likely to run on Boxing Day at Kempton in either the King George or the Feltham Novices' Chase.

'He could have a run before but I wouldn't want him to have a hard race really.

'Everything has been fine with him and he is ready for a run now though so we'll have a look.'

Yes Sir will bid to land his eighth successive success whenever he next faces the starter and is currently rated a 33-1 chance for the King George.
