Jockey Finn Brickley registered his second success since turning professional today, as the 7lb claimer landed Tramore’s SIS Supporting Irish Racing Handicap Hurdle on Bowensonfire (5/2) for his employer trainer Gordon Elliott.

Bowensonfire had previously won a Limerick maiden hurdle in January and today edged past Hasten Slowly on the run-in, to score by a length-and-a-half.

Brickley commented “Gordon has been very good to me, he has given me loads of opportunities and gave me a spin at Cheltenham, which was unbelievable and definitely was a day I won't forget. I've had some great luck around Tramore and rode my first winner here.

"I was asking Sam (Ewing, jockey) and other lads about this horse and they said if you can't get him settled after the first two, you might be in a spot of bother. To be fair, he put his head down and galloped and I got a great jump over the second-last and the last.

"It's nice to see him back to form after being beaten (at 30/100f in Ayr) the last day. He's an interesting horse and hopefully I can keep the ride on him. It's great and thanks the owners (KTDA Racing) too.”
