Boylesports Unhappy With UK Shop Sale Irish bookmaking chain Boylesports has expressed disappointment that it failed in its bid to buy 359 UK-based betting shops put on the market by Ladbrokes and Coral ahead of their intended merger. Boylesports claim they submitted a legitimate bid for the shops which was higher than the reported sale price of £55.5 million. Ladbrokes and Coral were forced to sell the shops in order to comply with competition authority requirements ahead of their proposed merger but instead of accepting the Boylepsorts offer the shops were sold to UK retailers Betfred (322 shops) and Stan James (37 shops). Boylesports intends to contact the Competition and Markets Authority in the UK regarding the matter.
