Boylesports extend Punchestown sponsorship

Boylesports and Punchestown today announced a sponsorship deal for races worth €500,000, extending the bookmakers contract at the course until 2013.

The new deal sees Boylesports continue as title sponsor for the opening day of the National Hunt Festival meeting which is held from May 3rd to 7th in 2011.

Next's year's Grade 2 Boylesports.com Champion Chase is expected to have a value of €140,000.

Last year's renewal proved a titanic battle as Sizing Europe, Forpadydeplasterer and eventual winner Golden Silver jumped the final fence locked together.

It has also been revealed that the 2011 running of the Grade 2 Tied Cottage Chase, on January 30th, will be rebranded as the Boylesports.com Chase.

Leon Blanche, head of communications at Boylesports, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled and excited with this sponsorship deal at Punchestown. This three year agreement underlines Boylesports commitment to Irish Racing.

“We are actively working to increase our portfolio of quality sponsorships in Ireland and are delighted to have the Boylesports.com Champion Chase as the jewel in the crown of our racing sponsorships for the next three years.”

Dick O'Sullivan, Punchestown General Manager, said:

“Thanks to Boylesports we are in a position to announce some great news for Irish Racing. Boylesports came on board here at Punchestown for the first time in 2009 and we've developed a great partnership over the last two years.

“It's credit to John Boyle and all his team for making such an investment in Irish racing in the current environment.”
