Break for Balmont now Balmont Mast is to have a well-deserved break following a busy first half to the year that has seen him run six times around the world. The Eddie Lynam-trained five-year-old may not have graced the winner's enclosure, but he has picked up £300,000 in prize money from his exploits in Dubai and Singapore. His latest effort saw him finish fourth in the KrisFlyer International Sprint at Kranji. "He's come out of the race very well," said County Meath-based Lynam. "But for getting things wrong in the first furlong when he couldn't hold his position I think he was possibly unlucky not to be second. "He still ran a very good race and will get a well-earned break now and be freshened up with an autumn campaign in mind."
