Browne & Brow'n win Navan's finale Navan’s concluding 1m6f handicap today was won for the second consecutive year by 13/2 chance Charlie Brow’n, with his curious apostrophe, who scored for owner Roisin Hickey, husband trainer Thomond O’Mara and 7lb claimer Adam Browne-Souza. In common with most French-bred horses, Charlie Brow’n was named prior to selling to Ireland and having gained his initial success in last year’s renewal of today’s race, followed up under a strong drive from Browne-Souza, when beating 22 rivals. Browne-Souza said "soft ground and this trip around Navan brings out the best in him. I was third on him in Killarney a couple of months ago where he ran well, but we didn't have much luck in-running. "I tried to ride him the same way Wayne Lordan won on him last year, when gaps opened up, and it just fell into place. He's honest, will find a lot for you and tries his heart out. He does his best and is a strong stayer." Quotes from Michael Graham
