California Dreamer outclasses Dundalk rivals On what was her first start for Robson Aguiar, California Dreamer outclassed five rivals in the concluding Put The Fun Into Fundraising At Dundalk Race. Second to Lake Victoria in the 1000 Guineas at the Curragh last season and highly tried for the remainder of the campaign, the Mehmas four-year-old had her sights lowered this evening. Available at 2/1 in early shows for this contest over a mile, she was eventually returned the 7/4 favourite in the colours of AMO Racing Limited & Giselle De Aguiar. Given a patient ride by Rowan Scott, the 104-rated bay was settled towards rear before making smooth headway on the inner from early in the straight. Ridden to lead with over a furlong to go, she quickly settled matters and came home two-and-a-quarter lengths to the good. Also coming from off the pace, Instant Appeal (9/2) filled the runner-up spot, with the front-running Spicy Margarita ultimately setting the race up nicely for her successful stable companion. "Great for confidence to come back and do that, and Rowan was very happy with her," Ryan McElligott, representing AMO Racing, reflected. "I think we will go on to the Curragh for the Park Express Stakes - try to win a stakes race with her, that will be the aim." The winning trainer added: "I think we are going to cover her this year. "We are happy to get her confidence back and we will see how she is after the race - Park Express and best available (race) for her." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
