Captain one of ten declared for Ryanair Novice Chase

Captain Cee Bee is among a field of 10 declared for the Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown on Thursday.

The talented nine-year-old, trained by Eddie Harty, was found to have a burst a blood vessel when a disappointing eighth in the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham five weeks ago.

Edward O'Grady's Osana and the Nicky Henderson-trained Riverside Theatre oppose again after finishing third and fifth respectively in that race.

Other Arkle also-rans hoping to fare better are Thomas Mullins' Fosters Cross (ninth) and Sports Line (11th).

Osana has since run second to Tataniano at Aintree when Paul Flynn's Archie Boy was third and Ron O'Leary's Schelm was pulled up.

Tony Martin's Psycho, winner of his last two starts, Adrian Maguire's Let Yourself Go and the Jessica Harrington-trained Roberto Goldback complete the line-up.

Martin believes Psycho deserves a crack in better company after having cruised round to win two of his three starts over fences this term.

"He's taken to fences very well and I was very happy with him the last day," said the County Meath handler.

"I think he deserves a shot at a better race now, he's certainly going there fresher than most having had only two runs since Christmas.

"A lot of his form is in soft ground but it won't be too quick tomorrow, Punchestown should be complimented on the ground.

"I'm hoping for a big run. It will tells us whether he'll be in handicaps next year or running in the big races."
