Carla Bianca and Smullen primed for Arlington Pat Smullen will cross the Atlantic to partner Carla Bianca for his boss Dermot Weld in the Beverly D Stakes at Arlington on Saturday. The Rosewell handler confirmed last month's Meld Stakes winner will be partnered by his stable jockey in the Grade One for fillies and mares over nine and a half furlongs. Weld is also hoping Good Tradition will make the cut for the Betfred Ebor at York on August 22. The lightly-raced four-year-old has been allotted 8st 10lb in what would be his first handicap. Though he was beaten at odds-on on his latest start, it was no disgrace to fail by a length and a quarter to give the Tony Martin-trained Dark Crusader 9lb at the Galway Festival. "Carla Bianca will go for the Beverly D Stakes at the weekend and Pat Smullen will ride, while Good Tradition will probably go for the Ebor if he gets in," said Weld.
