Carlingford Lough 'back after Christmas' Carlingford Lough's seasonal return has been delayed after the Grade One-winning chaser suffered "a minor setback". The John Kiely-trained 10-year-old had been in contention to make his comeback in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase on December 11. But last season's Punchestown Gold Cup hero is recovering from a slight issue which has forced him on to the sidelines for the rest of the year. Frank Berry, racing manager for owner JP McManus, told the Irish Independent: "He'll be back after Christmas."
