Carsons Dreamboat another bumper winner for Swan and Elliott Tailed off on her only previous start in a maiden hurdle, Carsons Dreamboat looked a totally different proposition when running out an impressive winner of the concluding John Walsh (Mainstown) Memorial Flat Race at Clonmel. Sent off 80/1 on her debut, no such fancy prices were available today, although the Gordon Elliott trained mare was available at as big as 10/1 before being backed right down to 11/4f. Held up in rear by Harry Swan, as Ballyteigue Bay led the way, Carsons Dreamboat moved fourth entering the home straight with two-furlongs to race. Moving up to take over from the leader well over a furlong from home, the response was emphatic once Swan asked the daughter of My Dream Boat to go and win her race. Sprinting clear from over a furlong out, the six-year-old had 15 lengths in hand of second placed Biddy Early at the finish. Harry Swan said: "I was happy with her performance and she is quite a big filly, who has probably just taken time. She is still plenty raw so I'm sure there is room for improvement. "It probably wasn't the strongest bumper but the way she did it, she was impressive enough. "She had been working well at home and, for a big filly, I liked the way she travelled into the straight. She showed speed but could be one for a longer trip in time." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes.
