Casey hopeful of making Aintree David Casey is "very confident" of riding in the John Smith's Grand National despite taking a bad fall at Fairyhouse yesterday. Casey, who is due to partner the Willie Mullins-trained Snowy Morning at Aintree, parted company from the ill-fated An Cathaoir Mor at the penultimate fence of the Arkle Bar Novice Handicap Chase. It was feared he had suffered a fractured pelvis and was promptly taken to the James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown, however subsequent X-rays revealed he had not sustained a break. Casey said: "I'm a little bit sore, but I'm a great deal better than I was, which is fantastic. "There was no break, but I'm going to see a specialist today who will see whether it's a problem related to an old injury. He'll then hopefully give me the okay. "It's looking pretty good at the moment and I'd be very confident for the weekend."
