Castledale Wins Californian Derby Castledale, trained in Ireland last season by David Wachman, has landed the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby.The colt making only his second start on dirt won in a close finish at odds of 30/1 and will now head for the Kentucky Derby on 1st May.Last season on his final start for Wachman he was disqualified having won the the Listed Blenheim Stakes at the Curragh by a short-head from Colossus.
