Caviar loses Navan race on appeal Royal Caviar, winner of the Grade 2 bumper at Navan last Sunday, has been thrown out on appeal. The appeals and referrals committee have taken the decision to reverse the placings and promote runner-up Fine Rightly. Patrick Mullins received a five-day ban for careless riding on the day after his mount came across Fine Rightly inside the final furlong. Royal Caviar went on to record a two-and-a-quarter length win. The stewards allowed the result to stand on the day after an enquiry but connections of the runner-up decided to appeal and that has been upheld.
