Trainer Willie McCreery continued what has been an excellent season when sending out topweight Guy's Girl to win the Camida Winning Solution Handicap at Clonmel.

An 11-race maiden coming into the race, the four-year-old built on a promising run at Cork last time to register a first career win.

Held up towards rear by Billy Lee, the well backed 9/2 chance(from 15/2) made ground to challenge the leaders a furlong out.

Edging ahead with less than 100 yards to race, Guy's Girl was always holding the late run of Reponse Finale to win by a neck.

Willie McCreery said: "that is very important as she has a lovely pedigree. Steve Fisher owns and bred her, so I'm delighted to get this win. They were going to pull up stumps with her but I said to hold on, as she has heart and I just had to place her right.

"She is four, is very small and knows she is very small, as she won't go up through horses. They went hard which suited and it is job done today.

He added "Billy gave her a lovely ride and I love giving him winners, as he is in two mornings a week when he gets up at 5am. He is with me 14 years and is a great horseman and jockey.

"He has all the attributes for a jockey, is brave in the stalls and everywhere, and I couldn't say enough about him."
