Cecil Aims For Criterium Glory

Henry Cecil will bid for his first Group One victory since 2000 when Passage Of Time lines up in Sunday's Group One Criterium de Saint-Cloud.

The Warren Place handler has not struck at the highest level since Beat Hollow won the Grand Prix de Paris six years ago and he relies on his recent Newmarket Listed winner this time.

Passage Of Time is one of seven British and Irish-trained raiders in the 10-furlong event, which is the final Group race of the year for juveniles in Europe.

Aidan O'Brien will be double-handed with Soldier Of Fortune, the mount of Kieren Fallon, and Red Rock Canyon (Seamus Heffernan) while Mick Channon sends both Aaim To Prosper and Massive.

Mark Johnston bids to end the season on a high with Empire Day who won the Zetland Stakes at Newmarket on his last start.

Dermot Weld sends Consul General, winner of a Cork maiden on his only start to date, for the 13-runner race.

Spirit One, Nommo, Ailton, Dilshaan's Prize, Perdono and Meridia complete the line-up.
