Market Changes

The setback for the Irish champion hurdler has triggered numerous changes in the Champion Hurdle market at Cheltenham, with The New Lion the 3/1 (from 7/2) favourite.

In the UK Champion Trainer betting, Dan Skelton has been cut to 2/5 (from 4/7) after a strong start to the campaign, while Willie Mullins has been eased to 15/8 (from 13/8).

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said: “Dan Skelton has made a flying start to the season and with a potential money-spinner like State Man sidelined, there’s a growing belief that Willie Mullins might just struggle to overhaul the home team and land this season’s British jumps trainers’ championship.”
