Brighterdaysahead first burst onto the scene at Gowran Park, where she made an immediate impression when bolting up by 13 lengths in a bumper. That performance marked her down as well above average and set the tone for what was to follow.
She backed that up by landing the highly prestigious George Mernagh Sales Bumper, a race previously won by top-class performers such as Kopek Des Bordes. From very early on, it was clear connections had a serious mare on their hands.
Physically, she has always stood out - a strong, scopey type with size, power and a brilliant attitude. She's quick when asked, strong when needed, and carries herself like a proper top-class mare.
Brighterdaysahead has been nothing short of brilliant over hurdles, racking up seven victories over timber, including three Grade 1 successes. Her finest hour came at Christmas last year when she produced a magnificent performance to win the Neville Hotels Hurdle by an astonishing 30 lengths, a display that underlined just how much class she possesses.
She showed she retains all of her ability this season with a superb second behind Lossiemouth at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival, once again proving she can mix it with the very best at the highest level.
Cheltenham, however, has not been kind to her. She ran a brave race to finish second in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle in 2024, behind last year's Champion Hurdle winner Golden Ace, but failed to fire in the 2025 Champion Hurdle. A further disappointing run at Punchestown brought her season to an early end.
Despite those setbacks, there is no doubting her talent or her long-term potential. She was originally set to go chasing this season, but a slight injury early on delayed that switch, meaning she will remain over hurdles for the rest of the campaign.
Looking ahead, she appears tailor-made for fences and is widely expected to make a serious impact when sent chasing next season. Her profile mirrors that of some of her notable relatives, including the brilliant Mighty Potter, who sadly passed away, and Caldwell Potter, winner of the Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase at Cheltenham before going on to land a Grade 1 at Aintree.
Brighterdaysahead is a fabulous mare with size, scope and a top-class attitude - and when she does eventually make the switch to fences, she looks capable of reaching even greater heights.
