Changes to Tote Ireland pools Tote Ireland announced increases in minimum guarantees to support the Jackpot, Placepot and Pick 6 pool bets, effective from yesterday. However, Tote also announced an increase in its retention rates on the Exacta, Trifecta, Jackpot, Placepot and Pick 6 pools from 25% to 30%, effective June 17th 2013. Win and Place bet types are not affected by this change. From June 1st there will be a minimum daily guarantee of €20,000 for the Placepot increasing to €30,000 on Sundays, a €3,000 minimum daily guarantee for the Jackpot increasing to €10,000 for the Sunday Super Jackpot and a €5,000 daily guarantee for the Pick 6. Additionally festivals at Galway, Listowel, Leopardstown and Punchestown will carry larger guarantees with €40,000 Jackpot and Placepot guarantees on offer over the course of the Galway Summer Racing Festival. Tim Higgins, Tote Ireland CEO, said: “We believe that these big increases in guarantees will deliver even more value and are in line with Tote’s ‘small-stake-big-win’ ethos. They represent our commitment to increasing the profile and attractiveness of these products both locally and abroad.” Commenting on the change in retention rates, Higgins said: “The increase will fund in part the substantially increased guarantees. With increased guarantees driving increased liquidity in the pools, I am confident that the net effect will be to the benefit of punters and that Tote will continue to represent great value for money for small stakes punters. "We will also invest in improving our product offering as well as significantly enhancing our online and mobile solutions.”
