Channel 4 Confirm Commitment To Leger

Channel 4 have confirmed their intention to show live coverage of the Ladbrokes St Leger on Saturday week.

Some reports had suggested the channel were either going to show a recording of the final Classic of the season or drop it entirely due to coverage of the fifth and deciding Ashes Test.

Racing has had to take a backseat on previous Saturdays during the thrilling cricket series but Channel 4 have underlined their commitment to showing the Doncaster race live.

A spokesperson said: 'We will be incorporating the St Leger into our schedule and we have no intention of not showing the race.

'We have discussed the issue with the Doncaster management and the Leger is due to go off at 3.25, which will fit in well with our other coverage.'
