Channon & Harley win the Molecomb Mick Channon's Bungle Inthejungle denied hot favourite Morawij in an exciting climax to the bet365 Molecomb Stakes. Roger Varian's Morawij was sent off the 2-1 market-leader following solid support and looked likely to collect when quickening up to take the lead a furlong and a half down. However, the more prominently-ridden Bungle Inthejungle responded generously to the urgings of Martin Harley against the rail to win the argument by a head. Morawij ran a perfectly satisfactory race, pulling three and three-quarter lengths clear of the third home, Hototo. Harley said: "You can't really go fast enough for this lad, he sees out the five really well. "He's a big horse and has plenty of speed. I didn't think I was going to peg him back until the last half-furlong, but he's tough, that's what you need in a horse - the heart in the right place." Channon said: "He's got blinding speed. I'm just relying on the jockeys to do the right thing and Martin played a blinder. "I imagine we'll go down the Flying Childers route, but this has always been the plan." Varian said: "He did very little wrong and it's just a game of fractions. I still want to try him on quicker ground and maybe the six furlongs of the Gimcrack Stakes at York might suit."
